RACE DATE: Saturday, October 16, 2010

  • STARTING TIME: 9:00AM - Please arrive as early as possible, gates open at 7:00 A.M.
  • COURSE: The Irvine Lake Mud Run is an approximate +5k course beginning and ending at picturesque Irvine Lake. The course is partially on the road and partially on trails and includes hills, water (no contact with lake anywhere), professionally built obstacles and "eight+" mud pits. You asked for even more mud, you got it! You will get wet and you will get muddy. Be sure to bring towels and a change of clothing.

  • DIRECTIONS & PARKING: Directions from South Orange County: Take 55 frwy North exit Chapman Avenue (East)/ Continue just 7.5 miles. Or to arrive even quicker, take the 241 toll road to Santiago Canyon Road, head East. 
    • Directions from North Orange County: Take 91 east to 55 frwy South exit Chapman Avenue (East)/Continue just 10 miles. Or to arrive even quicker, take the 241 toll road to Santiago Canyon Road, head East. 
    • Directions from Greater Los Angeles County: Take 5 frwy South to 91 east to 55 frwy South exit Chapman Avenue (East)/Continue just 7.5 miles. Or to arrive even quicker, take the 241 toll road to Santiago Canyon Road, head East.
    • Directions from Inland Empire and Riverside Counties: Take 91 frwy West to the 241 Toll Road South exit Santiago Canyon Road (East)/From here you are 2 miles from the lake. Alternately, you can continue on the 91 frwy West to the 55 frwy South exit Chapman Avenue (East)/Continue just 7.5 miles. Or to arrive even quicker, take the 241 toll road to Santiago Canyon Road, head East.

Oak Canyon Park is off Santiago Canyon Rd.  You will pass Irvine Lake on the left (Do not turn into Irvine Lake. Make first left after Irvine Lake at park entrance. Follow signs.


Attendants will direct you in and out of the parking areas. Parking is $5, $10 for Preferred Parking closer to the main gate. Save fuel and space in our lot, PLEASE CARPOOL!

INDIVIDUAL & TEAM COMPETITION:  Participants may compete as individuals or as part of a 4-person team or open sized team with an unlimited number of runners. Costumes and matching team outfits are encouraged.  Help us make this the wildest mud run ever.

 

Team categories include:

 

    * Individual Male

    * Individual Female

    * (4) Person Male Team

    * (4) Person Female Team

    * (4) Person Mixed Team (at least one person from the opposite gender)

 

Age brackets are standard five year increments. Choose your age upon registration.

 

You must be 13 years of age or older and in good health to participate in the adults mud run. Kids 12 and below are allowed to register and run in the Mud Puddles Kids Race Area.

 

If you are part of a team, all four team members must cross the finish line TOGETHER to compete for awards!

 

"Le Tour de Mud" - Mud Run 2009/2010 Series - It's here! October 16, 2010 is for the big money for those runners that have ran in all (3) Irvine Lake Mud Runs (October 2009, April 2010 and this run, October 2010!)

 

Compete for a $10,000 purse in the (4) Race Irvine Lake Mud Run Series! *

 

$2,000 prize for the best Men's individual time over (4) Mud Runs in the 2009/2010 series.* 

 

$2,000 prize for the best Female's individual time over (4) Mud Runs in the 2009/2010 series.*  

 

$2,000 prize for the best (4) Person Men's team time over (4) Mud Runs in the series.*

 

$2,000 prize for the best (4) Person Female team time over (4) Mud Runs in the series.*

 

$2,000 prize for the best (4) Person Mixed Team (At least one person from the opposite gender) time over (4) Mud Runs in the series.*

WAVE START: The start will consist of separate "waves". The first waves will be individual runners, and the remaining ones will be for the teams.  Due to the narrowness of the trails in several areas, this will help prevent crowding.  Winning times will be based on TAG time, not GUN time, so it is possible for individual runners in the second wave and teams in the fourth wave to place in the event. How to put on a D-tag instructional document.   

AWARDS: Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female individual finishers. Awards will also be given to the top three teams in all categories. The awards ceremony will be at 11:00 A.M. tentatively.  Subject to change according to number of runners. 

ENTRY FEES: Non-refundable and non-transferable. Once we accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not give or sell your number to anyone else.

CONFIRMATION: Online and mail in entries will be confirmed by e-mail if a valid email address is provided. If you mail in your entry, your canceled check or credit card charge is your receipt. If you do not receive an email confirmation it may be due to spam filters or firewalls on your computer. Entries may also be confirmed online at the registration link within 24 hours of registering.
